After the overwhelming success of the programme on Etawah Gharana - "The Great Masters of Etawah (part 1)" , Prof. Amlan Dasgupta and Subhranil Sarkar did a presentation on the great vocalist Ustad Amir Khan at the Vivekananda Hall, Rama Krishna Mission Institute of Culture. This was also a great success.

 Event: The Great Masters of Etawah (Part 1)

Place: Ramakrishna Mission Institute of Culture, Vivekananda Hall; Golpark

Date: 3rd July, 2009, 6 pm


Recently Subhranil Sarkar and Prof. Amlan Dasgupta did a presentation on the Etawah Gharana at the Rama Krishna Mission Institute of Culture, Kolkata, India

Some 800 people came to attend it along with stalwarts such as Pandit Kashinath Mukherjee (student of Ustad Vilayat Khan & Ustad Amir Khan), Pandit Ulhas Kashalkar, Ustad Mashkoor Ali Khan, Ustad Mubarak Ali Khan, Prof. Sanjoy Banerjee (RBU) and others.

The programme was a huge success.

Prof. Amlan Dasgupta assisted by Subhranil Sarkar presented an Audio-visual presentation on Pandit Mallikarjun Mansur (1910-1992), the great Jaipur-Atrauli Gharana exponent. It was well attended and well received.
